KANDIANA is a portfolio of prints created by Pat Egger and Mark Rice.
It recounts a phase of correspondence to Mat Park from the mythical synthesis of Indiana and Kansas, KANDIANA. Postcards were exchanged between the REAL cities of Warwick and Providence, Rhode Island over a period of 5 months. Then prints were made from the imagery exchanged in the postcards.
Included in each portfolio is a xeroxed book with a silkscreened cover. This book documents the exchange of all 32 postcards that were the inspiration for the series of prints that followed.
KANDIANA includes: 10 double-sided prints (drypoint and silkscreen) chine-colled two-color wood engravings with rubber stamp, a silkscreen colophon, a 36-page xeroxed 8″ by 10″ booklet with a silkscreen cover, all in a handmade silkscreened slip case.
